The Lighthouse at Colonia del Sacramento is worth a visit for an obviously great view of the surrounding area. The lighthouse was built in 1857 over the ruins of the San Francisco convent.
The lighthouse is normally open every day from 12 to 7pm.

Even though the the tiles say it's a red light, that has now been changed to a white light that is much bigger and looks like an inverted bottle of a water cooler (see photo below)
